Post 128: The Scalpel

I call this technique the scalpel. If I find myself going into a challenging situation, I can use this tool to prime myself to come from a place of love, appreciation, happiness, or whatever feeling I choose.

Anytime I feel myself either already worked up or going into a situation that I know will aggravate me, I stop. I pull out my phone and set a timer for two minutes. Then I push start and list as many things as I can about the person, or situation I am about to walk into, that makes me happy. 

I can choose whatever feeling I want. List every reason I love someone. Name everything about the situation I like. Ponder everything I can appreciate about the person, place, or thing I am about to interact with. This way, I walk in choosing how I feel.
