Strengthening my ability to handle a mood will relax its grip on me. I can slowly build up my tolerance over time by dealing with the difficult emotion instead of avoiding it.

It’s like eating spicy food. If I never eat it, just a little spice will drive me insane. Every time I expose myself to a meal with heat, the effect of the seasoning decreases. I become used to it. It loses its power.

I like to focus on little instances that disturb me, so that I have more ability to handle the hard situations when they inevitably come up.
