I get away with family or friends a couple times a year. I think it is wonderful to take a step back from life and reset. It is great for me when I have the ability to do it.
I think it is vitally important to take a step back and reset in my day as well. Just one slow, conscious breath. Taking a moment to think about the choice before I make it. Realizing I am in a doom spiral. All these activities can give me a momentary reset. They give me a chance to make a choice as the Ryan of right now, instead of stick to the poor decision I made yesterday, or three decades ago.
A daily reset is a great start. An hourly reset is even better.
How many times can I come back to myself in a day?
