A question tree to get through anxiety:

First off, am I worrying about something that has actually happened? Or am I concerned about something that might happen? What is the likelihood it will occur? Can I do anything to make sure it does not arise? If no, what good is stressing about it doing me?

If it has already transpired, and I can’t change the past, why am I spending so much time wishing I could? Have I ever been able to adjust reality before? What makes me think I will now?

If I am in the middle of it right now, will making myself uneasy help me or hurt me? Again, I cannot change the past, so I am where I am. And the future is not written until it is the past. The one bad outcome I am focused on is just one possibility in the infinite potential outcomes.

When looked at through these lenses, what good is freaking out doing me?
