Post 1,314: Just One Breath

There is nothing I have found to be more powerful for my mental state than one conscious breath. I know I have struck this chord many times in the past, however, it is just that important.

First, learn to breathe the healthiest way possible:

Breathe in through the nose, with my stomach going in and out instead of my shoulders going up and down. The nose and the diaphragm are what make this process so powerful. Breathing in this way has so many health benefits, it is insane that most people don’t utilize this method, let alone even know what it does for them.

Second, focus on the breath:

Take one long, slow, comfortable breath. Then do it again. Do it as many times as I can keep my attention there.

This calms me. This makes me feel better. This focuses me. This resets me. This gives me a moment of caring for myself.

Just one breath.
