Post 1,236: It's My World
I am fully bought in on my way of seeing the world. The only thing is, I also know it can change in an instant.
My youngest used to love dogs. Dogs were the best thing in the world. She would run up to them anywhere we went and ask to pet them every time.
Then we were at a friend’s pool, and a puppy Labrador got excited and jumped on top of her, dunking her under the water. The entire scare lasted less than three seconds. And yet, those few seconds made her afraid of dogs immediately.
She was so sure dogs were amazing. Then, in one moment, they were something to be feared.
If I know my view of the world can be affected so dramatically, so quickly. Why do I hold on to the story I am telling myself so firmly?
