Post 930: Getting Better

I was out snowboarding this past weekend and took some time to thank myself for sticking with it. I am 43, and snowboarding is hard. I picked it back up four to five years ago, having not done it since I was in my early twenties. And it is extremely difficult. It took me at least three years to really feel comfortable with it, and I was noticing how I was still getting better.

At this point, it feels like I am floating down the hill, and it is just wonderful to experience.

Taking the time to really work on something keeps making it more and more natural. This is the primary reason I am consistently talking about shifting my focus to my breath. Because I have yet to find a situation where it doesn’t help, and it has become more and more powerful in directing my thoughts, my responses, and my actions.

I want to continue this practice for the rest of my life.
