I was thinking about how I believe both these things, so I thought I would explain the difference:
Don't just sit there, do something. - I use this when my brain is racing and I can't get out of a spiral. I go workout, or for a walk, or call the person I might be fixated on.
Don't just do something, sit there. - This is for when I am in a good place mentally, and I want to really dig deep into myself and make sure I am on the path I want to be on. Often, it is good for me to take a step back and make sure I am who I want to be.
