Can I find something in this moment to be grateful for? Do I see something amazing? Can I find something that is supporting me? Do I have something that exists to help me? Can I think of someone who loves me?
At any point in time, I can ask myself any of these questions. I will get the feelings that the answers produce.
I understand there are people who are chemically imbalanced, or mentally unstable. There are probably other outside factors I don’t even have an awareness of that would make these things very difficult, if not impossible. I am not just saying “feel better.”
I am asserting that if I can think of an answer to any of the questions I posed above, or countless other inquiries that could give me a response that makes me feel good, I can create a helpful feeling any time I want. I have that power if I have the ability to think.
