Here are the things I tend to worry about:
1. Something that happened in the past which I cannot change.
2. Something that might happen in the future which I have no control over.
3. The things I make up about what is happening right now.
There is one common thread amongst all these: they are only in my head. The past happened; the future will happen. Neither is happening right now. If I get the chance to plan for the future, or talk with someone about the past, these are useful. Just worrying about them is not. Similarly, worrying about what is happening right in front of me, while not engaging with it, is just as futile.
Interacting with reality typically works much better than just sitting in my thoughts.
