Post 1,473: Who am I Listening To?

October 05, 2026•1 min read

Every once in a while, The Lion Sleeps Tonight will pop into my head. It has been there since I was a young child. I still remember sitting in the car with my dad while we both sang it with glee.

I point this out because I have so many random thoughts that come into existence from every age of my life. It could be a song lyric, or an inappropriate joke, or something I took as a life lesson when I was eight years old.

This is why I believe it is so important to stop and look at what I think now before making important decisions. Just picking whatever comes to mind could be a decision made by the same mind that randomly sings Frosty the Snowman in the middle of July.

Take a breath, take a moment, and make a decision that benefits my world now, instead of the world of a twelve-year-old Ryan. Things have changed since then. I have grown since then. Maybe, my choice has as well.
