Post 1,457: The One vs The Many
I have found looking at the situation is so much more useful than caring about the way things should be.The person I am noticing is happy, healthy, and enjoying what they are doing. I care about that more than what my culture, the rules, or the right way to do things says.
If it comes down to the person in front of me is happy verses everyone else telling me they are wrong; the person wins, in my opinion. They know themselves and the situation much better than platitudes, or universals, or customs. As long as they are not hurting others with their decision, I trust the individual over the collective most every time.
