Post 1,222: Ignorance is Not Bliss
I woke up at 5am this morning to use the facilities. I noticed it felt more cold than usual. When I went downstairs, I was informed it was 54 degrees inside my house. Upon further investigation, I realized my youngest had turned on the air conditioning. (To understand why this is so shocking, realize it was actually zero degrees outside. My home’s internal temperature had dropped thirteen degrees in six hours.)
I realized, I have never sat my children down and explained how the thermostat works. What seemed so simple and obvious to me was not something they were aware of. My youngest was hot, and she knew A/C would cool her down.
It makes me think, where in my life is someone doing something that angers me, or frustrates me, or upsets me? Have I had a conversation with them about how that part of me works? What if it is just ignorance on their part?
