Post 1,221: Extreme Feelings
It has been incredibly cold where I live. I am talking thirty degrees below zero. I get used to it. Then, one day it will be ten degrees. It will feel so warm because I am used to thirty degrees below zero.
I become acclimated to whatever I am in, even if what I am in is terrible.
So, if I am feeling ignored, some attention will feel amazing. If I am feeling angry, some happiness will feel like a blessing. If I am feeling content, some discontent will feel atrocious.
This is worth noticing and thinking about. Am I used to feeling good or bad? If I am used to feeling bad, do I push away the good because it is so shocking? If I am used to feeling good, am I especially horrible to the bad?
