It is insane what I can get used to. As I write this, my phone says it is negative eleven degrees outside, and feels like negative twenty-six. Yet, when I walk outside, I am cold, and I survive.

I have also gotten used to worrying. I have been in moments in my life where every moment of my day has been spent anxious about something I do, or do not want to happen. I get used to it. My brain stays obsessed. It affects my sleep. It hurts my diet. It makes me act worse around people.

Just because I can get used to something, doesn’t mean I should accept it. Acclimation is not the same as acceptance.
