What do I now see as good, because I reclassified it over time? Let me give some examples to explain what I mean.
When I was younger, I got bullied. Now I am hypervigilant. I see that as a power. However, I am still constantly looking for (and thus finding) danger.
When I was a child, a dog bit me. Now I feel like I am better than dog people, because I don’t hang around those vile creatures. (And I never get their love.)
In a past job, my boss took advantage of me. Now I have created my own business where I get to take advantage of all these suckers. (And now I am acting just like the boss I hated.)
This is another aspect of myself to look at. Do I want to live a life where I am constantly scared, or missing out on love, or acting like the person I thought acted poorly?
Maybe it’s time to write a new story?
