A Little Happiness Just for You

Post 26: Who Knows Me Best?

If I eat better, I am happier because I feel better. If I put in the work to woo a significant other, I get the joy of building a deep relationship. If I work out more often than I want to, I get a stronger body.

     And sometimes it is fantastic to just live in the now. Drink that Red Bull. Hang out with my friend. Play that video game.

                The habit to build is to be able to determine when one is better than the other. Most of the time, it is better for me to eat healthy. I’ll feel better in general. So, I need to test to find out how often eating junk makes me feel worse than the momentary happiness of eating it is worth. Or am I in a situation where I just have a great night out eating nothing but cheese and bread with an old friend.

                The overall point I am going towards is that the only person who can really decide this is me. Maybe I am quite happy with my body feeling bad, as long as I get to eat whatever I want whenever I want. Maybe you are most happy when you eat only the most nutritious, healthy food.

                I am the only one who knows exactly how I feel, and what makes me happy or not. The same is true for you. I need to work on listening to myself, and trusting myself.
