Post 1,469: A New Path
Where I live, we went through a drought for three or four years in a row. I remember wishing it would rain every time I looked where water was supposed to be.
Now, it just wont stop raining. Day after day, the rain continues to come down. Every time I go outside, I hope it never rains again.
Even though I am intentionally aiming to find what is good in the world around me, I spent so many years looking for the bad. Old habits die hard. It is useful to remember I am purposely reorienting myself, for the reason that I was focused in one direction for so long. Just because I choose a new setpoint doesn’t mean the old one magically disappears.
