Post 1,433: Homies
In the last few weeks, I saw two people who were incredibly good friends of mine at different points in my life. One was my best friend in kindergarten; one was a good friend in high school and college.
It made me think about how there was a point in which either of these men was a central part of my life. And now, it might be a decade or two since I have seen them. Yet, when I ran into them, there was comfort and camaraderie.
This person is my best friend. Now they are not. This person I have never known before might just be some day.
The only thing that defines any of this is the story I tell myself.
