Post 1,402: Imaginary Problems
I came across an explanation of problems and their relationship to time today that made more sense than when I have heard it before. Here it is:
Almost all my plights are future troubles. Or, to put it more bluntly: POSSIBLE future troubles. Anything I consider a pain is typically something that might occur at some impending indiscriminate point.
Very, very rarely, an issue is occurring in this very moment. It is happening alongside me.
However, 99.99% of the time, I am not currently in the midst of one.
And yet, I spend way more than 0.01% of my time fixated on worries. Most of which never happen. And the ones that do are typically less challenging than what I come up with in my mind.
So, the main problem in my life, as measured by the amount of time I spend on it, is thinking about imaginary problems.
