Post 1,317: A Bright Future

I am an optimist. That is fairly obvious. A question worth asking is: what if I’m right? What if robots and AI come along and just do everything for us? What if the future is one of immense time freedom? What if my day is wide open, and I can do pretty much anything I want?

The dark side of this is a real problem of meaning could be coming. If I don’t have work filling up most of my time, and giving me purpose, what will?

The positive side of this is: how many people do you know who love their jobs? If I don’t have to get up and do the career I don’t particularly care for, what can I choose to do instead?

Taking time now to really notice myself can be a huge advantage. Where do I spend my time that makes me feel good? What do I do that gives me energy instead of drains it? What would I do all day for free?

I think it is entirely possible we have a future where we can decide for ourselves how we spend the vast majority of our time. How would you spend yours?
