Post 1,251: Giving Control
I love to take control. I love to take on responsibility. The nice thing about this world is this desire seems to be rare. So, people are very happy to let me take care of everything. One lesson I have learned is to talk my way through my thought process with everyone.
If I just come out and say, “This is what we are doing.” then I will absolutely get pushback. However, if I instead say this is what I am thinking and ask for feedback, I will maybe have to change the outcome one percent of the time.
Most people just want to be asked. This is a helpful tip with getting my way with family, friends, teams, clients, and literally anyone I am interacting with. Just give them the option for control, and most people will happily give it all right back to me.
