
Post 1,231: Someone to Talk To
Having someone to talk to has consistently helped me in a multitude of ways. I think my favorite is a friend I can go on a walk and talk with and just lay it all out. I will admit therapy is nice because I am paying someone to be there for me. I don’t have to worry about them getting equal talk time, and I can just focus on me.
I think it is also important to have someone to listen to. There are even different benefits based on who I am with. If it is someone who is going through something like me, I get to find out I am not alone. If it is someone who is going through something I have never experienced, I get a wider view of the world and the people in it.
No matter what the situation is, someone to talk with makes me feel more allied with the world. It makes me feel more needed. It makes me feel more connected.
Put it on the calendar to connect with someone. I guarantee it will be worth your time.
