Post 1,216: Life is Busy
People are busy. I want to hang out with my girls. They have a ton going on. I want time with my wife. She is overloaded with people needing her. I want to be around friends. They have significant others and children of their own who have plenty to do as well.
The best way I have found to deal with this is to be very intentional. Make plans. Bug everyone until they say yes. And very importantly, don’t get upset if plans change, even at the last minute. Life happens. If I am the whiny friend, or father, or husband, how much are people going to want to be around me?
This means I have to both take on the responsibility of causing time together to happen, and be mature enough to accept when someone else has their day messed with. It’s not personal. Life is busy.
