Post 1,214: Put Myself Over Money
What if money is not the answer? What if I could just enjoy my job because I enjoy it, not because it makes me money? I fully understand I need to make enough money to provide for my family. Why would I hate my life for more? Why would I put making more money as more important than getting more time with my children, or my wife, or my friends?
I am specifically pointing to the need for more. What is enough?
I have come up with a number that is enough for me and my family. I work to get there. I put in the time and the effort. And frankly, I enjoy my jobs.
The beauty of defining enough is I can then say no. If someone comes to me with something that would make me tons of money, yet I would hate doing it, I can say no. I can put myself over money.
