Post 1,199: The Joy of Pain
I just went to the wedding of a friend who had to go through some very hard things to get to the point of getting married to her new husband. I was thinking about how incredibly happy she looked.
Both she and her new husband went through rough divorces. They both lost people they thought they were going to spend the rest of their lives with. After everything that came with those experiences, they both looked so happy.
I doubt either one of them would choose to go through what they went through again. I also doubt either one of them is unhappy with where they have ended up.
I find it so interesting that pain can be a vital part of happiness.
