
Post 1,151: The Feel Good Button
The most powerful practice in the world is to stop and take a slow, deep, comfortable breath. (I would recommend through the nose, with my belly moving instead of my shoulders.) It has a multitude of health benefits mental, physical, and emotional.
Where all the power is though, is it pulls me out of my thoughts. For one brief moment, my thoughts lose control. I can stop doom spirals, anger, worry, or any other powerful emotion my thoughts are dragging me down into. I can stop them.
Now, it takes practice to not just immediately fall back into these states. However, the more I practice this, the better I get at everything I just listed above.
This is the button I can push any time to help myself feel better. Any time.
