Post 1,129: Authenticity
A massive upgrade for me has been telling people what I really think. Instead of telling people what I guess they want to hear, or what I believe is the “correct” answer, or just abstaining from giving input; I give the person I am talking to my real thoughts.
I will give the caveat of doing this when asked, or when it really matters for an outcome that will affect me. Telling someone I don’t like what they are wearing, how they are driving, or what they are choosing for themselves is rarely useful, and typically just giving someone else a reason to doubt themselves.
Telling someone what I really want for a decision that affects me, however, is giving trust to the person I am dealing with. With the added bonus of it helps me create more of the world I want.
