What if the part of my story I am angry about isn’t even in your awareness?
Have you ever tried to explain to someone who has never drank alcohol what it is like to be inebriated? It is very hard to get someone to understand something they have never experienced.
Now, take that idea and apply it to two people who are paying attention to entirely different realities. Be it political, financial, ethnic, religious, or anything. How do I explain the huge problem I see to someone who isn’t even aware that a problem exists?
That is what is creating outrage culture. That is what is creating people who feel unseen, or unheard.
Becoming aware of the fact that I am unaware of so much changes the game.
