Post 1,113: The Alone Trap
I think a primary issue today is everyone has their own story. I pay attention to one narrative, and I don’t understand why that person over there isn’t outraged by what outrages me. However, they are looking at me like I am a looney toon because why aren’t I freaking out about this thing that should so obviously freak everyone out. While I don’t even have an awareness of the thing they are freaking out about.
So, we all get mad at each other. We think the “other side” is evil. It is so obvious they are evil; I don’t even listen to them. And they don’t listen to me.
Now, my world is filled with horrible things, and I am the only person who cares about them.Except, everyone can feel this way.
It can dramatically shift how I feel about it when I realize I am in the same trap as the person I am upset with.
